Join us for an exclusive event on March 3, 2026, hosted at the Edmonton Convention Centre and Fort Edmonton Park.

Event Highlights:

  • 12:30 – 2:00 pm - Gathering & Land-Based Learning at the Edmonton Convention Centre (ECC)

    • ​Begin the afternoon with Tea and Bannock, creating a welcoming gathering space grounded in relationship and respect—core principles of effective reclamation.

    • Engage in land-based learning and informal discussion led by Elders, exploring how Indigenous ways of knowing inform responsible land stewardship and reclamation practice.

    • Potential for story sharing and an informal Sharing Circle, emphasizing listening, reflection, and connection as essential foundations for reconciliation and long-term land restoration.

    • This session invites participants to consider reclamation not only as a technical process, but as a relationship with land, people, and place.

  •  2:00 – 2:30 pm - Transportation to Fort Edmonton Park

    • Travel from the Edmonton Convention Centre to Fort Edmonton Park.

    • Bus transportation will be available, or participants may choose to drive themselves.

    • Transportation needs will be collected during registration.

  • 2:30 – ~4:30 pm - Guided Tour: Indigenous Peoples Experience
    • Participate in a guided tour of the Indigenous Peoples Experience at Fort Edmonton Park.
    • Learn through Indigenous voices, stories, artwork, and music shaped by engagement with Elders, knowledge keepers, historians, and community members.
    • Explore how Indigenous perspectives on land, history, and continuity offer valuable insight into holistic reclamation, sustainability, and intergenerational responsibility.​

 

  • 4:30 – 5:00 pm - Return to Edmonton Convention Centre
    • Transportation provided back to the ECC following the tour.

Length: Estimated to be 4-4.5 hours
Transportation: Bus transportation will depart from the Edmonton Convention Centre at 2:00 pm. Personal vehicles are also permitted at the tour site.

Dress Code: No PPE required but dress appropriately and wear appropriate footwear for walking outdoors.
