Presentation Summary

This presentation will provide an overview of the Guide for Noxious Weeds and Undesirable/Problem Species Variances on Reclaimed Forested Sites (2025). Attendees will learn the purpose and scope of the guide, when a weed variance may be considered for reclaimed forested sites, and the type of information needed to support a variance request. The session will also discuss key considerations outlined in the guide to help applicants better understand regulatory expectations when preparing variance justifications.

Erin Stonelake - Pesticide Policy Specialist, Government of Alberta 

Erin Stonelake is a Pesticide Policy Specialist for the Government of Alberta based in Edmonton, Alberta. She holds a degree in Biological Sciences from Macewan University and has professional experience in pesticide application and invasive species management.
