Three-day introductory soil course is fully field-based. Led by Dr. Konstantin Dlusskiy and focuses on hands-on experience with application to industry standards.

About this Event

This introductory soil science course led by Dr. Konstantin Dlusskiy focuses on:

  • Description of soil pits and landscapes
  • Field diagnostics of soil properties and processes
  • Soil classification to Subgroup level of the Canadian System of Soil Classification
  • Soil sampling protocols
  • Hazards associated with ground disturbance and the Alberta One Call procedure

Course Details

Where: In-person field school near Lac la Nonne, AB (1-hour drive NW of Edmonton). Accommodations are available within 30 min drive from the study area

When: May 21 to 23, 2024 (8 h each day, 8 am to 5 pm with two coffee breaks and a lunch break)

Fee:

Early Bird - $500 (+GST) (ends March 1st)
Regular - $600 (+GST)

Additional Notes: 

24 hours towards Professional Development. Transportation, meals, and accommodations are not included
